Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and your rights.
Last updated: October 2016
Draft template. Items highlighted in yellow still need your details. Have the final version checked by a data protection adviser before launch.
Who we are
This website is run by Megan Denise Smith, a self-employed professional (autónoma) registered in Spain, NIF Y8221669B, trading as Safeguarding Practice International. I am the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
For any question about this notice or your data, contact us at: info@safeguardingpracticeinternational.com
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- The content of your message, and anything you choose to include in it
Please do not include details of an incident, or information about anyone involved in one. We are not able to receive reports or respond to disclosures.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on this website.
Why we use it
We use your details only to read and reply to your enquiry, and, if you decide to work with us, to prepare that engagement. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where your enquiry is about working together, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
We do not sell your data, use it for marketing without your consent, or use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
Messages sent through the contact form are not stored on this website. They are emailed to our account provided by Google Workspace, which processes them on our behalf and only on our instructions.
Enquiries may also be shared with my partner in Safeguarding Practice International, Alexandra Costa Valerio, and our senior adviser, Aleksandra Perczynska, where needed to respond to you.
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, an adequacy decision of the European Commission, or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for six months after our last contact with you, then delete them. If your enquiry leads to an engagement, we keep the relevant correspondence for six years, in line with Spanish accounting and tax obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for access to your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
